Historical World War I Colt Government Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Infantry Officer Inscription and Holster Rig

Manufactured in 1917. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block patent and address marking with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the right side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE .45" and the right side of the frame is marked "GOVERNMENT MODEL" over the serial number. The left front of the trigger guard bow is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proof and "P" on the lower left. Below the ejection port is inscribed "CAPT. J.B. MILLER / 4TH NEB. INF.". Some research may prove interesting. The pistol is equipped with the standard fixed sights, checkered slide stop, magazine release, thumb safety and wide spur hammer, flat mainspring housing with lanyard ring on the butt, two tone magazine with lanyard ring on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with a diamond pattern around the screws. Complete with a brown leather A&F brand swivel flap holster, tan webbed belt and canvas double magazine pouch with a "U.S. / A 18 / crossed cannon" medallion added to the flap.

ConditionExcellent. The pistol retains 95% of the original blue finish with some thinning on top of the slide, front of the trigger guard and backstrap, and holster wear on the front portion of the slide and frame. The grips are also excellent with a few minor dings and light bruises, and very crisp checkering. The markings are highlighted in white and remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The holster and rig are all very fine.
