Manufactured in 1892 with a special order 26 inch part octagon barrel. Blade front sight with non-factory two leaf rear sight (1 folding leaf and 1 fixed leaf with elevator absent) and an unidentified tang peep sight made for windage and elevation. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address ahead of the rear sight and "38-56" at the breech with the two line, two patent dates marking along with the serial number on the lower tang. Smooth forearm and straight grip stock with forend cap and crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Good as partially refinished. The barrel and replaced magazine tube assembly both retain traces of original blue finish with the balance a smooth cleaned artificial brown patina. The barrel address and caliber marking are both very lightly legible. The receiver and lever retain traces of silvered out original case colors with the balance a mottled gray patina. The buttplate and forend cap have a smooth dark patina. There is an area of minor pitting on the magazine and some very scattered minor spotting. The buttstock has been repaired and refinished at the wrist, otherwise the wood is good with some minor dings and scratches. A coat of clear varnish has been added to the forearm.
