Manufactured in 1885, this Third Model Rifle has the dust cover guide rail integrally machined to the receiver, full length magazine, and blade front and sporting type rear sights. The top barrel flat has the two line address/patent dates marking ahead of the rear sight and "45-60 WCF" at the breech. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1876" and the brass cartridge elevator is marked "45-60". Smooth forearm and straight stock with iron forend cap and crescent buttplate with storage compartment (cleaning rod not included).
