This is a very nice example of a Parker Bros. VH 410 shotgun which was Del Greco upgraded to an AAHE Grade shotgun. Concaved matte solid rib with double ivory sight beads, marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. PEERLESS STEEL" flanked by inward pointing arrows. The barrels were most likely originally Vulcan steel, The barrel flats are marked "SKEET/IN" and "SKEET/OUT", overload proved and marked with the number "7". 3 inch chambers with ejectors. Each barrel has a 2 1/2 inch wedge of tight scroll engraving on the sides at the breech end, and a band of engraving around the muzzle end. The action, trigger guard, break lever and forearm hardware are very nicely engraved with fine floral scroll designs, with gold relief "Parker" on the underside of the action and gold relief serial number on the lower tang. The dished water table is marked "PARKER BROS/AAH" on the right side and "239686/7" on the left side. Blue barrels and buttplate, with casehardened remaining parts, single gold trigger, with gold selector mounted next to it, tang mounted automatic safety and mounted with a high gloss walnut semi-beavertail forearm and straight grip stock with fancy bordered checkering, Fluer-de-Lis, checkered recessed flats, engraved skeletonized buttplate and finely checkered Fluer-de-Lis bare butt. The initial oval is inscribed "W.O.O.". Length of pull is 14 1/4 inched with a drop of 1 1/2 inches at the comb and 2 1/4 inches at the heel. Cast-on with toe-out at 1/2 inch. Complete in a Parker Bros. brown leather hard takedown case with brass hardware, leather straps, handle and corner protectors, green felt lining with brass Parker Bros. plaque on the inside of the lid, bore brush and mop, 28 gauge snap caps and leather trimmed canvas cover.
