Rare Smith & Wesson/Armament Systems & Procedures Model 39-2 ASP Pistol with Extra Magazines and Accessories

Designed in the 1960s by Paris Theodore, abstract artist, holster maker and (self-proclaimed) CIA independent contractor, the ASP takes a basic Model 39-2 Pistol and "remanufactures" it into an ideal defensive carry pistol. The barrel, slide and frame are all shortened, hammer bobbed, edges deburred, and the trigger guard trimmed down and hooked at the front. The rear sight is correctly replaced with a sighting plane, with no front sights, and the grips are translucent Lexan with clear panels corresponding with cuts in the magazine for round counting. Mentioned in Maj. Geoffrey Boothroyd's 1970 book "The Handgun", John Gardner, one of Ian Fleming's successors, made the ASP James Bond's sidearm starting in 1984, and through the following 11 novels. Included with the pistol are two extra magazines, double and single magazine pouches, 3 leather pouches with ASP logo markings, a Null brand shoulder holster, a Cobray ballcap, Cross pen/pencil set with ASP logos, and an assortment of ASP papers, including manual and registration card, all housed in an aluminum hard case.

ConditionExcellent, with 99% of the original teflon finish, showing light handling marks. The cap has a damaged adjustment strap, and the holster straps show some cuts and scuffs, otherwise the accessories are excellent. Mechanically excellent.
