This is a very fine example of a late-production 1939 dated Mauser Luger pistol rig that is complete with a WWII leather holster and spare magazine. The top of the chamber area is dated 1939 with the "S/42" code markings on the top of the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension has the late/new markings that consist of the double "Eagle/655" Waffenamt proofs next to the single spread winged Nazi eagle firing proof. This last proof also appears on the right side of the barrel and the left side of the breechblock. It has the standard markings on the extractor and safety area and the pistol is complete with an original WWII brown leather holster marked on the back; "cdg/40/single "Eagle WaA101" Waffenamt proof. It is complete with two magazines one has a blued, body with the aluminum base, that is marked with "6059/x/Eagle/63" Waffenamt proof and the other one has nickel plated body also with the nickel plated magazine body with the aluminum base that is marked with "3046/Krieghoff Eagle 2" Luftwaffe proof.

Very fine with 90% of its original wartime blued finish with wear on the edges and high spots, the muzzle area of the barrel and the grip straps. The grips are in very fine condition overall with nice checkering on both sides, with the left side showing some freshening of the checkering, with minor handling marks overall. The holster is in good condition with an nice original brown color overall showing scuffing and loss of the leather finish on the edges and high spots. The stitching is tight except the area where the flap was sewn onto the hinge, which has started to loosen up with age, the remaining stitching is tight and intact. The markings are a little light but readable. This luger has matching numbers on the various parts except the two magazines as noted above. Overall a very nice example of an original wartime used early WWII Nazi Luger rig.
