Manufactured in the mid 1860s with a total production of approximately 20,000. These revolvers were manufactured by Eagle Manufacturing Company of New York and sold through Plant's Manufacturing Company of New Haven. The top of the barrel rib is marked "EAGLE ARMS CO., NEW YORK" and the cylinder is marked "PATENTED JULY 12, 1859 & JULY 21, 1863". The revolver is front loading and chambered for the 30 caliber cup primed cartridge. 6 round cylinder, spur trigger, blade front and frame notch rear sights, silver plated brass frame with blue barrel and cylinder, and fitted with smooth two piece rosewood grips. The revolver is complete with an original green pebble grain, hinge lid box with a cleaning rod. The label on the lid depicts the image of the revolver with "SIX/SHOOTER/No 1" to the upper left and "THE BEST/METALLIC/CARTRIDGE REVOLVER" and "MANUFACTURED BY THE/eagle logo/EAGLE ARMS CO/NEW YORK" below the revolver. The inside of the lid is marked with the "Directions For Using" and the interior of the box is pink.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel retains 85% plus original bright blue finish with scattered flaking, and a smooth gray patina on the exposed metal. The cylinder retains 90% original blue finish with some minor spotting. The frame retains 85% original silver plating, which has darkened considerably with age. The ejector rod is absent. The cylinder has some play in it when the hammer is decocked and spins freely when the hammer is cocked. The grips are very good with a few minor dings and dents. The markings are clear and crisp. The box is fine with some heavy corner and edge wear, and separated corner on the lid and box and a piece is absent for the compartment that would normally hold a box of cartridges.
