Description:

Manufactured from 1912 to 1935 this Type III derringer is marked "REMINGTON ARMS--U.M.C. CO. ILION N.Y." on the solid rib. Matching serial number on the barrels and left side of frame under the grip. The pistol has a manual extractor and checkered grips. The consignor states that this derringer was purchased from a hardware store in Algood, Tennessee, circa 1913-1914 and was subsequently purchased by his father in 1970. He has attested to this in a letter dated October 11, 2010. Included with the pistol is the correct factory box, wax paper and cleaning rod.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The derringer retains 95% original blue finish thinning to a brown patina (mostly on the frame) and some mild spotting. The grips are also excellent with a few light nicks in the overall crisp checkering. The box is very good with minor wear.
