Description:

Manufactured from 1870 to 1882 with a total production of about 2,900 brass frame models. The left side of the top strap is marked "MY FRIEND PAT'D. DEC. 26, 1865". Silver plated brass frame, with scroll and punch engraving on the sides, wavy border lines on the top strap, and a starburst pattern above a sharply checkered shield on the back strap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 80% plus original plated finish, showing wear along the high edges, minor flaking and scattered handling marks. A dark patina is visible on the exposed areas of the cylinder, with finely aged visible brass. Mechanically very good.
