Description:

The left side of the slide has the scarce, highly desirable "byf/42" marking. The serial number matches on the slide frame and barrel lug. The "Eagle/135" proof is present on the left side of the barrel lug and left side of the frame. The right side of the slide has a firing proof flanked by "Eagle/135" proofs. Fitted with ribbed grips. The "P.38v" marked magazine has an "Eagle/135" proof on the spine. Due to production problems all byf/42 P38 pistols were assembled in 1943 and are in the 1943 serial range which began at 1. When these pistols were assembled, slides with the byf42 markings were mixed in randomly with 1943 components.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 85% plus original blue finish with the grip strap a smooth brown-gray patina. The grips are excellent with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
