This Winchester Model 70 super grade rifle is chambered in the extremely rare 7.65 mm Argentine. The rifle was manufactured in 1937, the only year Winchester offered Model 70s in 7.65 mm Argentine. Adding to the rarity of this rifle is that it is a super grade. In his study THE MODEL 70 WINCHESTER 1937-1964, author Dean Whitaker was unable to confirm reported Model 70 Super Grade 7.65 mm rifles. This rifle will surely rewrite the history books! The barrel features a hooded ramp front sight and an adjustable sporting type rear sight with the right side stamped with the two line Winchester address and the left side having standard Winchester markings followed by "7.65 M/M." The Type I receiver is tapped for sight/scope mounting and is marked "WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-" on the left wall. The hinged floor plate is stamped "-SUPER GRADE-". The rifle has a polished bolt numbered to the gun, cloverleaf receiver tang and pre-war safety. The straight comb pistol grip stock features multi-point checkering, cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, quick release sling swivels, factory hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate, all features of a Super Grade stock.

Very fine as professionally restored. The rifle retains 97% blue finish showing some minor thinning and some loss at the muzzle. The stock is very fine with some minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering.
