Introduced in 1934 and discontinued in 1948, this is an example of a Model 52 Sporter with the select walnut checkered pistol grip stock. Standard Winchester markings including the factory proof on the left side of the barrel and receiver at the breech. Ramp blade front sight with provisions for a hood and a Lyman receiver sight. "SPORTING" is marked in front of the trigger. The nicely figured checkered pistol grip stock has a black forend cap, hard rubber factory grip cap, raised cheekpiece on the left side of the buttstock, and a solid Pachmayr pad.

Very fine as refinished overall. The rifle retains 99% of the factory quality, refurbished blue finish with some mild thinning on the bolt knob. The shortened, revarnished stock has a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering.
