The brevete case is for a Colt Paterson percussion revolver and measures 12 3/4 inches wide, 6 1/4 inches deep and 2 1/4 inches high. There is a silver blank inset on the lid and the case has blue velvet lining. The case has three partitions with an area dished out to accommodate the cylinder. In the case are several lead rounds and Paterson revolver accessories. The brass plunger style charger is unmarked. The two cavity .36 caliber Colt factory bullet model is brass and is marked "COLTS/PATENT." The cleaning rod is brass with a wooden round knob handle. Lastly, there is a combination tool.
