Description:

1) Carved bone powder flask, measuring 12 1/2 inches tall. Brown painted bands are present on the spout, with a pair of iron hanging rings, geometric carving on the top and bottom thirds, and a panoramic scene of the closing moments of a boar hunt around the center. The flat base is blue felt upholstered. 2) Carved bone powder flask, 14 inches tall with a carved horn spot, golden wire hanger on iron rings, scroll and geometric pattern carving at the top and bottom with a grotesque face near the top ring and an array of arms and flags around the center. The base is zig-zag border engraved, with additional arms in the center. Provenance: The William Ashby Collection
