The Winchester oval proof is marked on top of the barrel and offset on the top left of the receiver at the breech and "MODEL 1895/WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF." on the upper tang. Blade front, adjustable sporting rear sights and receiver mounted Lyman peep sight. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with ebony insert Schnabel tip and straight grip stock with a smooth crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The rifle retains 30% plus original blue finish mixed with a plum patina. There are a couple minor scratches and minor spotting on the barrel, and some light pin prick type pitting on the receiver and magazine. The wood has been refinished with a coat of varnish and remains very good and showing a few minor gouges and a chip on top forward of buttplate. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
