Description:

This 10 gauge brass signal cannon has a tapered barrel with the standard Lavione rollover breech and an overall length of 12 1/4 inches. The barrel is marked "MADE BY R.H. BROWN CO./NEWHAVEN CT USA/LAVIONE'S PAT JULY 81-88/PAT FEB 18-90 on the top at the breech. "9" is marked inside the breech. Mounted on a mahogany carriage with brass mounts, brass elevator and brass tie down rings with mahogany wheels. The carriage measures 10 1/2 inches long x 8 1/4 inches wide and 7 inches tall including the wheels.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The brass has aged to a smooth dark patina with some light handling marks, spotting and light verdigris. The carriage shows some light handling marks, a couple areas of crazing and some edge wear. The wheels show some crazing with a few surface cracks on the circumference. The firing cord is absent. Mechanically excellent.
