Description:

Introduced in 1903 this unique Winchester breech loading signal cannon measures 12 inches long and is marked "- NOT FOR BALL -" with the two line Winchester address/patent followed by "10 GA" at the breech. Mounted on an 10 3/4 inch long by 5 inch wide cast iron carriage finished in black enamel with two metal wheels. Both sides of carriage are marked "W.R.A. Co./TRADE MARK/REGISTERED IN U.S.A.". The matching serial numbers are marked on the bottom of the barrel and the bottom of the mounting band.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The cannon shows a gray/brown patina with light spotting overall. The carriage retains 50% of the black enamel finish with flaking and the rest showing a smooth gray/brown patina. Some spots of light surface oxidation are visible. The wheels retain 50% of the black enamel finish with flaking and the rest showing a gray/brown patina. Mechanically excellent.
