Manufactured circa 1894. Blade front and ladder rear sights, the top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patents dates ahead of the rear sight and "44 W" at the breech. The top of frame marked "MARLIN SAFETY". There is a saddle ring and staple on left side of frame and upper tang tapped for sight mounting. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate.

Fine. The barrel and magazine retain 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The frame retains 20% original blue finish with a smooth brown-gray patina on the balance. The rear barrel band has a smooth gray patina. The hammer, lever and buttplate retain traces of original case colors. There is some scattered minor pitting. The wood is very good with a couple small chips missing near the upper tang (due to bent down lower tang), and some scattered minor dings and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
