Manufactured in late 1898. The barrel has the sixth style inscription with the 1911 patent date that can be seen as early as serial number 430,000. The barrel and top of the receiver are stamped with the "W/P" proofmark. Has a blade front sight and an elevation adjustable rear sight. The receiver and guard are casehardened with the serial number only stamped on the guard. Mounted on a 12 groove round walnut forearm and smooth straight grip stock with curved steel buttplate.
