Pre-War Colt Single Action Army Revolver

Manufactured in 1926. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address, "45 COLT" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the front and back strap under the grip. The rear face of the cylinder is stamped with the last two numbers of the serial number, "69". The loading gate and right rear of the frame are marked with the assembly number "454". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, and fitted with hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The inside of the left panel has a name and number scratched into it.

ConditionVery good. The revolver retains 25% of the original blue finish on the barrel and ejector housing, strong original blue finish in the protected areas of the trigger guard bow, and a mottled gray and brown patina on the balance. The front sight has some tool marks and once had an ivory bead, which is presently absent. The grips have faded to brown and remain very good with some slight warping on the bottoms, a tiny chip on the right toe and distinctive checkering. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
