Description:

Manufactured between 1863 and 1875, and subsequently converted to rimfire. A plate has been added to the recoil shield and the rear of the cylinder milled flat and having grooves for the hammer striker. An ejector rod has been mounted on the right side of the frame and there is a notch cut into the loading lever to secure the rod when not in use. The top barrel flat has the standard patent date/address/New Model marking. The cylinder is marked "PATENTED APRIL 3D 1855" (rollin white patent). The matching serial number is marked on the frame under the grip and on the bottom barrel flat. There are single letter sub-inspector marks on some of the parts including the bottom of the grip panels. Pinched blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish with casehardened hammer and trigger, and brass trigger guard. Fitted with smooth walnut grips with boxed cartouche on the lower left side.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 60% original blue finish with a mottled brownish gray patina on the barrel, showing some minor pitting, smooth gray patina on the grip straps and scattered thinning. Much of the original case colors remain on the hammer. The trigger guard has an aged patina. The grips are also very good with a few small chips and wear on the lower edges, and some minor dents and dings. The first and third letter of the cartouche and box are visible. The markings are legible. The action is fine.
