Description:

This example is embossed with "US" in an oval on the tapaderos and on the flaps of the saddle bags. The right tapadero is marked "3G7B" on the lower front and both are marked with the inspector's initials "H.F.K." on the inside. Comes with a horsehair girth strap, a set of saddle bags, stirrups and reins with blinders having brass "US" buttons. The girth strap is stamped "Smith-Worthington" and is dated 1918.

Rating Definition:

Good, the leather has a dark brown appearance with areas that have stiffened and age cracked. The embossed markings are worn. The sheep wool on the bottom is worn and is detached in places. The saddle bag flaps have sections missing from the edge. The stirrups have cracking along the bent edges.
