This is an excellent example of a standard production Winchester Model 70 target rifle that was manufactured in 1955. There is a Lyman 77R front sight on the sight block at the muzzle, there is a scope block mounted towards the rear of the barrel, there is a scope block mounted to the matted receiver ring and there is a Lyman 48WH micrometer rear sight on the left rear of the receiver. The barrel has the Third Style markings along with the oval "W/P" proofmark at the left rear. The proofmark is also stamped on the front left of the receiver. The receiver is clip slotted and has a "straight" tang. The bolt body is numbered to the receiver and there is a late style safety. Mounted on a smooth walnut pistol grip stock with sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate. With a leather claw sling.

Excellent, 98% of the original blue finish remains with wear on the edges and high spots along with some scattered minor scratches. The stock is very fine showing some scattered handling marks in a few places with a nice oil finish. Mechanically excellent.
