Description:

Manufactured in 1880. The barrels have a single steel bead sight, are choked cylinder/cylinder and have 2 5/8 inch chambers with an extractor. Mounted on a multi-point checkered walnut splinter forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with initial shield and smooth steel buttplate. Length of pull is 14 inches. The research letter states it was ordered by Hartley & Graham in New York on March 5th 1880, it shipped June 30th, 1880, that it is a Quality 0 12 gauge, 30" Plain Twist barrels, pistol grip stock, the chokes put 180 #8 pellets in a 24" circle at 45 yards, the stock had a 14 1/4 LOP, DAH was 2 5/8", that it weighed 7 pounds 4 ounces and that the price was $55.00. It also mentions that the gun was returned on November 27th, 1914 to clean and rebrown the barrels at a cost of $5.00.

Rating Definition:

Fine as partially professionally refinished (barrels), the barrels retain 95% of the brown finish with some cleaned areas of darker discoloration and some minor pitting. The chokes have been opened up. The casehardened components retain traces of the original case colors in the protected areas. The wood is very good with some scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
