Grouping of German Military Artifacts, Chiefly Afrika Korps Themed, including a "Secret" Marked German Map of the Allied Defenses of Tobruk

1) Seven wartime German postcards, with four featuring Field Marshal Irwin Rommel (one mounted to a cardboard backing with an unverified pencil signature), fighter ace Gunther von Maltzahn, Field Marshal Kesselring and General Kirchheim of the Africa Corps. The Kirchheim card was mailed, with a "5.2.44." postmark from a Luftwaffe air base. 2) Continental map of Africa "Afrika=Karte", published by German Armed Forces High Command, Inland Office and dated for 1941-1942. Measures 26 1/4 inches tall and 26 inches wide, with multicolored political borders and colonial designations. 3) Large and impressive map of the Allied defenses around the Port of Tobruk. 47 inches wide and 62 inches tall when fully opened, with the geographical details and reference grid rendered in black, military assets in red, and civilian assets in green, the map covers the entire surroundings. The date, "1.IX.1941" indicates that it reflects the state of affairs partway through the Siege of Tobruk (11 April to 27 November, 1941), with "Geheim!" (Secret!) in red directly along the top, along with a struck-out note "Nur Fur den Dienstgebrauch" (Restricted, suggesting that the secrecy level of the map was upgraded) and the title "Umgebung Tobruk" (Area Surrounding Tobruk). The right side bears an extensive legend in both Italian and German.

Condition1) Good overall, with mild edge wear and a few stains. 2) Fair, with some edge wear and tearing along the seams. 3) Very good, with some mild wear concentrated to the edges and folds, and small absences at the lower corners.
