Description:

Tan cotton exterior construction with the triangular Luftwaffe eagle patch on the crown over the rectangular cockade and wreath patch on the band. A rough brown leather chinstrap, an extra button on the back for mounting a neck protector (not included) and tan cotton lined visor. The interior lining is red cotton, size marked 58, dated 1942, and bearing the makers mark of August Schellenberg of Berlin. Originally intended for general issue to officers and enlisted men, the "Hermann Meyer" was discontinued in 1942 in favor of a Heer-style cap, though some officers were known to have retained theirs through the Italian Campaign.

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing some minor wear and stains. The patches are later production replacements.
