Description:

Manufactured in late 1914. This pistol has the square butt, slide lock on the left side of the frame, lanyard swivel and eight round magazine that distinguish it from the Colt Model 1902 "Sporting" pistol. The left side of the slide is marked with the standard two block, two line patent dates and Hartford address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the standard two line caliber markings on the right side and a small Mexican National crest marking on top of slide behind the front sight. There is no letter at the time of writing, but the Mexican crest appears correct. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "6" assemblers mark on the lower rear and the Colt "VP/triangle" proofmark on the front top. Standard low profile fixed sights, two tone magazine marked "MIL./COLT/38 CAL" and fitted with smooth pearl grips.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The pistol retains 40% original blue finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. There are some minor scratches. The grips are excellent with some light scratches and handling marks. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine.
