This beautiful pistol was manufactured in 2011 and is hand engraved and gold inlaid with floral scroll engraving on the sides of the frame, on the cylinder and on the rear top portion of the barrel. The sides of the barrel have "1861 Civil War Sesquicentennial 2011" inlaid in gold. The top of the barrel has "FAP F.lli Pietta Italy" inlaid in silver. The bottom of the frame in front of the trigger guard is signed "inc. Dassa". The Dassa brothers have performed work on some of Beretta's highest quality shotguns. The serial number "XGO2874" is stamped on the left side of the frame. Fitted with a nicely figured, multi-point checkered one-piece walnut grip. Comes with the original box numbered to the gun. This revolver was featured in the Fall of 2013 edition of the magazine "Guns of the Old West". The consignor states that it is a one-of-a-kind prototype being the only hand engraved version manufactured due to the "X" prefix on the serial number. Comes with a printout of the magazine article.
