Measuring 31 inches long and approximately 8 inches wide across the trunnions, the cannon is fitted with a pair of sighting grooves at front and rear, a pair of 1 3/4 inch trunnions marked "BP/&C" (reportedly Boyd & Peck) on the right and "1987" on the left, and a raised "crown/BP" on top. The cannon is mounted on an 11 inch wide and 26 3/4 inch long hardwood base with an elevation adjustment screw and a pair of wooden skids on the bottom. Overall length as mounted is 35 1/4 inches.
