Manufactured in 1901 and subsequently engraved and silver inlaid. Floral scroll engraving cover the barrel, ejector housing, cylinder, frame, trigger guard and back strap with a generous amount of silver inlaid accents. The barrel is absent of any markings, the left side of the frame has the two-line, three-patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt and the rear face of the replacement cylinder is marked with the Rampant Colt. The barrel gauges at 38 caliber and is probably 38 Special. Blade front and frame notch rear sights, blue finish and fitted with a one-piece Asian ivory grip carved with a dragon and vine motif.
