Unidentified Single Shot Underhammer Brass Knuckle Percussion Pistol

Manufacturer: Unknown
Model: Percussion Pistol
Type: Pistol
Gauge: 28
Barrel: 2 inch slab sided
Finish: bright
Grip: brass

Item Views: 3453

Catalog Page: 127
Class: Antique
Description:

Manufactured by an unknown party, this pistol is unmarked, except for a set of "crown/V" and "crown/crossed scepter" proofs in the style of Birmingham on the right side of the barrel and the serial number "109". The overall design of the pistol shows inspiration from the Dolne Apache revolver, with an underhammer percussion pistol as the base and the grip section enhanced with a set of 3 steel studs for use as brass knuckles. A horseshoe shaped spring is fitted to the locking catch for the grip, a feature also seen on the "True Companion" and "Sure Defender" brass knuckle pistols in this sale, as well as sharing an ignition system with the "Sure Defender".

Rating Definition:

Good overall, with a well aged patina to the brass. Some play has developed in the hinge, and a brown patina has formed on the nipple. Mechanically good.
