Raised bead front and notch rear sights, with "W TRANTER'S/PATENTS" on the loading lever and trigger, "F.O" on the left side of the frame, serial number on the right, and fine borderline and scroll engraving on the frame, barrel, trigger guard, loading lever and butt. The upper left barrel flat and cylinder are marked with British proof marks. It has the distinctive long double action trigger, which cocks the hammer and disengages the drop safety, blue finish with bright loading lever, trigger and hammer and fitted with a finely checkered walnut grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 60% plus bright original blue finish with edge wear, some smooth gray and brown patina on the barrel and front strap, and a smooth gray patina on the casehardened cylinder and smooth brown on the back strap. The loading lever, trigger and hammer are for the most part bright with scattered discoloration. The grip is also fine with some minor bruising to the otherwise crisp checkering. The action is fine.
