Manufactured in 1915. Standard nickel steel/smokeless powder marking on the left rear of the barrel with "30 GOVT.1903." on the left rear at the breech, the Winchester two-line address/patent dates on the left side of the receiver, the three- line model, maker, trade mark information on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower tang. Sheard Marble front blade sight, the rear sight has been removed and a filler block installed, and a receiver mounted peep sight has been installed. Mounted with a smooth Schnabel forearm with ebony insert and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate.

Fair. The barrel retains traces of period refinished blue finish mixed with smooth grayish patina. The buttplate has a smooth mottled silver gray patina and the remaining metal surfaces have a mix of thin original blue finish and smooth brownish gray patina. The wood has been freshened with a coat of varnish and remains very good with a hairline crack on the left side of the forearm and some minor dings and handling marks. The markings remain crisp and clear. The action is fine.
