Description:

This small, double action pepperbox is likely of French or Belgian origin and has floral scroll engraving with traces of gold fill, a ring trigger and upward hinged loading gate. There are no visible marker's marks, serial numbers or proof marks. The butt has a small unfilled tap possibly likely for a finial or lanyard loop as is seen on some similar examples. The recoil shield is large compared to the barrel group.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The revolver has primarily a gray-brown patina overall. The frame has light pitting and there are some mild marks and scratches throughout. It appears to have been repaired on the left side just in front of the recoil shield and possibly at the junction between the front strap and frame. The grips are very good with creamy aged tones and some slight cracks and superficial scratches. Mechanically fine.
