Description:

Manufactured circa 1865, with markings found on Remington New Model Army revolvers procured by the State of New Jersey to arm their militia units. Pinched blade front and frame groove rear sights, with the three-line patent/address/model markings on top of the barrel, and "N.J" on the left side. Single letter sub-inspection marks on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and cylinder. Brass trigger guard and smooth two-piece grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, showing 85% plus bright original blue, some bright edge wear, scattered handling marks, and some light dings. Drag lines are present on the cylinder, heavier pitting is visible on the front strap beneath the grip, and the New Jersey mark appears double-stamped. A fine patina is showing on the trigger guard, with strong niter blue on the trigger. Grips are fine replacements, with mild chipping on the bottom edges and mild dings. Mechanically excellent.
