The casehardened lock plate is marked "1863" behind the hammer with the "eagle motif/U.S." and "REMINGTON'S ILION. N.Y." at the front. It has a blued barrel and straight grip stock with brass furniture including the brass patch box which contains a replacement nipple and two cartouches on the left flat. It includes a tulip head ramrod and a wooden barrel plug.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The rifle retains 90% plus of the blue finish and 95% vivid case colors with some spotting and light scratches. The brass components have a dark aged patina with some verdigris in recessed sections. The wood is near excellent with some scrapes, pressure marks, and a few chips. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
