The Royal Irish Constabulary Model 83 was introduced c. 1883 and was still for sale in the Webley & Scott catalog in 1939. According to the serial data mentioned in WEBLEY REVOLVERS, this example was likely manufactured in 1914. It is marked "P. WEBLEY & SON/LONDON & BIRMINGHAM" on the top strap, "455" on the frame on the top left above "WEBLEY'S R.I.C./MODEL '83" over the winged bullet trade mark, and with the serial number on the left side of the frame and the cylinder. It is equipped with a German silver round blade front and frame groove rear sight, a checkered walnut grip, and a lanyard loop.

Fine. 50% of the original blue finish remains with a brown patina on the balance. There are some minor marks and scratches scattered throughout along with some edge wear. The grip is also fine with some small dings, light scratches, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.

The top strap is marked "WEBLEY-SCOTT/LEBEAU-THE PUPPY COURALLY/LIEGE LONDON", and the left side of the frame is marked "DEPOSE" over a proof mark. Other proof marks are on most of the components. The right side of the frame is marked "5046". "3" is marked on the cylinder and ejector. It has a blued barrel and cylinder, case hardened frame, jeweled hammer, and checkered hard rubber grips.

Fine. The revolver retains 20% of the original blue finish and 40% of the faded case colors, and a gray patina on the balance with some light spotting and slight scratches. The grips are very good with crisp checkering. Mechanically fine aside from a somewhat loose trigger. Clear markings throughout.
