Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Not to be confused with the later military pistol, the Roth Steyr, only a couple thousand of these were made. The serial numbers consisted of a letter and numbers from 1-999. This example is "A115" suggesting it was manufactured in one of the early runs. The magazine was loaded from the top of the gun. It is marked "PATENT/ROTH" over the chamber, "R. MÜLLER, CAPE TOWN" on top of the barrel, and with the Sauer "savage hunter" emblem on top of the frame and both of the checkered hard rubber grips. It has fixed blade front and notch rear sights. Other "R. MÜLLER" marked firearms have been seen and he also appears in the records as a piano dealer in Cape Town, South Africa. It is likely that he was an importer and sold a large array of goods.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine. 95% of the bright original blue finish remains with some thinning and edge wear, along with various light scratches. The grips are fine with sharp checkering and an aged chocolate tone. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
