Nickel Plated Webley No.4 Double Action Revolver with S.W. Silver & Co. Retailer Markings and Holster

This Webley No. 4 revolver is built on a Pryse pattern and has a full nickel plated finish and is marked "S.W. Silver & Co/ Cornhill, London 'Retriever'" on the top strap. S.W. Silver & Co. were outfitters based in Cornhill. Some of the equipment the firm exported is known to have been used in the Boer Wars in South Africa and elsewhere. The left side of the barrel has an arrow and "WEBLEY'S/No. 4/455 CF" just above the cylinder retention knob which also has an arrow to help users verify the knob is in the proper position. On the bottom left of the barrel lug it is marked with the "winged bullet/W&S" trademark. The left side of the frame has the serial number followed by the gothic letters "B.T". The partial serial number "372" is marked on the rear face of the cylinder. It has a round blade front sight and integral notch rear sights, pinch type barrel catches, lanyard loop, and a one piece checkered grip. It includes an unmarked holster with striped pattern.

ConditionVery fine. The revolver retains 95% of the period retailer applied nickel plating with some minor spots of flaking. There is a faint cylinder drag line as well as some overall light scratches. The grip is very good with crisp checkering and a few noticeable dents and dings. Mechanically excellent with clear markings. The holster is in very good condition with only minor wear.
