This exceedingly rare revolver is one of four made by Colt in this caliber and nine inch barrel length as confirmed by the included factory letter. The letter also indicates that it was originally part of the Colt Archive Collection as an experimental model and was later shipped to a collector in 1999. The serial number on the frame and left side of the grip straps places the date of manufacture c. 1975 at the tail end of the 2nd Generation of Single Action Army Revolvers. It is marked with the one line model and caliber information on the left side of the barrel with the one line address on top and the two line, three date patent information followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. The loading gate and right rear of the frame have the assembly number "650", and the trigger guard is marked on the left with the "VP" proof at the front and a "M" at the back with a larger "Z" on the front right side. It features a blade front and a frame groove rear sight and is fitted with checkered plastic grips with the American Eagle on the bottoms and the Rampant Colt on the top.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% of the original blue finish and nearly all of the rich case colors. The trigger guard/front strap retains 90% of the plum finish. There is a faint cylinder drag line and handling/storage type marks overall. The grips are near new. Mechanically excellent with clear markings.
