Very Fine Adams Patent Small Arms Company Mark II Double Action Revolver with Holster

The Beaumont-Adams' patent revolvers were the first modern double action revolvers ever made and proved so popular that Samuel Colt was forced to close the London factory. This example marks a further evolution of the Beaumont-Adam's revolvers designed for the .450 Adams cartridge and has the Mark II style ejector rod assembly. The top barrel flat is marked "ADAMS'S PATENT SMALL ARMS CO., 391. STRAND, LONDON" and the right side of the frame is marked "ADAMS'S PATENT No 905". There are London proofs on the cylinder and barrel along with an AJ monogram trademark on the bottom right of the frame. The cylinder face is marked "M.H. 905". A small "M.H." is marked on the lower front of the grip, and a "905" is marked on the upper edge and on the rear of the frame. It includes a leather holster.

Rating definitionVery fine. The revolver retains 75% plus of the original blue finish with gray and brown patinas on the exposed surfaces, light scratches, and some spots of light pitting. The grip is very fine with sharp checkering and some minor marks. Mechanically fine with clear markings. The holster is good with cracking on the surfaces and soft, pliable material.
