Description:

Manufactured from 1864 to 1872 with total production approximately 3,300. This example has the scarce 4 inch long three superposed barrels. The sides superposed barrels have wedges of a scroll and punch dot engraving at the breech and at the muzzles. The left side of the frame has the maker and patent dates marking. The frame sides have an extensive floral scroll engraving, which incorporates an unusual winged mythical creature on the right side above the trigger. Writer believes this to be from the shop of L.D. Nimschke.) The barrels are numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Very good. The barrels have a bright appearance with some very scattered light pitting. The frame retains 10% original silver plating with the exposed brass having an attractive aged patina. The grips are very fine with a few light overall handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
