Description:

This Ottoman rifle likely dates to the late 17th or early 18th centuries and is profusely inlaid and decorated with precious metals and fine materials including gold and silver floral inlays on the barrel at the breech and muzzle. It has a rear sight groove on the bone upper tang and a shield at the breech with peep sight holes for longer ranges and includes a button head ramrod.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The rifle is very worn overall. The iron surfaces have some brighter patches but generally have a dark brown patina with oxidation and deep pitting. The stock has several cracks and some of the inlay damaged or absent. Mechanically fair.
