Description:

This large bullet mold is designed to produce 44 caliber conical bullets. The one side is marked "44H" (44 Holster) near the top and each handle bar is marked with a small "C" military inspectors mark. There are no visible makers marks. It has brass bolsters and oil stained walnut handles. Provenance of the Dr. Joseph A. Murphy Collection.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The bullet cavities are in astoundingly good condition with sharp lines and edges. There is some variance in colors on the metal from a golden hue to fiery case-like colors and fire blue. There is some light surface pitting and minor scratches and marks. The brass has an attractive aged patina, and the wood is very good with some mild abrasions and dents.
