This rifle was expertly crafted by John Bolliger of Mountain Riflery using a controlled feed style bolt action. Bolliger began building custom sporting rifles back in 1966 and has since earned a reputation for accuracy and quality. Some of his rifles have sold for record prices and many have helped raise funds for conservation organizations such as the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, Safari Club International, and Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. The barrel was made without provisions for fixed sights and is marked "Dennis J. Winter" on top, "Three Thirty Eight/WINCHESTER MAGNUM" on the left, and "John Bolliger/RIFLEMAKER" on the right side. The serial number is marked on the tang and the partial "1873" is marked on the bolt. It has a jeweled magazine follower and bolt with a blued handle with checkered design on the knob. It is fitted on a triple -x- fancy grade English walnut pistol grip stock with fleur-de-lis checkering on the forearm and grip, contrasting forend cap ebony, blued steel skeletal grip cap, shadow line cheek rest, decelerator recoil pad, and sling swivel studs. The Mountain Riflery website discusses how they purchase their select walnut blanks directly after they have been cut and then carefully age and dry them over three or more years in Idaho to ensure the wood solidifies and stabilizes soundly. It is equipped with a Z6 1.7-10x Swarovski scope with a silver eagle on the left side. The Swarovski scopes have earned a reputation as some of the world's best. Their optics are astoundingly clear.
