Manufactured as 5-screw Victory Model revolvers, both revolvers in this lot have been customized and embellished. A raised rib with checkerboard pattern engraving is installed on the barrel, with a blade front sight, and a machine-turned polish has been applied to the hammer and trigger. A "P" stamp is present on the left side of the frame, and a pair of smooth grips are installed. "KEN-MAYNARD" is engraved on the butt. Jeweled trigger and hammer. Included with the pair is a C.S. Garcia, Elko, Neveda tooled brown leather double-gun belt rig with twelve cartridge loops and a pair of "Mexican loop" holsters that are a good fit for the revolvers. "KEN" is tooled into the leather on the belt above each holster. The rig was made pre-1939 given the Elko, Nevada markings. Guadalupe S. Garcia is considered by many to be the most notable leather carver, silversmith, and saddlemaker in the American West in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in 1895, Ken Maynard reportedly got his start as a trick rider in live performances, traveling with Buffalo Bill's Wild West and Ringling Brothers before starting his film career in 1923. Although he debuted in silent film via "The Man Who Won", he recorded two records and sang in films making him one of Hollywood's prototype "singing cowboys". Maynard retired from acting in 1944 but made two additional film appearances in the early 1970s shortly before his passing from cancer.

Rating Definition:

Very good as refinished showing 98% of the current blue with some spotting and dents. The grips are very good with some mild dings and edge wear. The belt rig is fair with some scuffs, cracks and lost stitching. Mechanically very good.
