Manufactured in 1922 and subsequently custom engraved/refinished. Fixed sights, with the two-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, caliber markings on the right and "48" and "1/VP" on the trigger guard. Over 50% of the exterior surface is decorated in fine scroll engraving with textured backgrounds. Checkered grips with "COLT" banners over the Rampant Colt. No engraver's markings are present.

Fine as professionally embellished/refurbished, with 98% of the current blue finish, showing some light handling marks and a small amount of pitting. The grips are very good, with a few small chips absent and mild handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
