This is a correct example of World War II US Army contract Remington Model 1903A4 sniper rifle that was manufactured in the first block of serial numbers. These rifles were issued during WWII, again in Korea and even Vietnam. The top of the barrel is marked "R A/Ordnance Bomb/12-43" and the receiver is marked "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" correctly offset on the left side. The rifle has the correct 1903A4 sniper rifle bolt with the "R" mark on the underside of the bolt handle. The rifle has a Redfield marked scope base installed on the receiver which has been fitted with a blued commercial Weaver 330 rifle scope. The nomenclature plate on the scope is marked: MODEL 330/Pats Pend/W.R.WEAVER Co./El. Paso TX.". The trigger, barrel bands and buttplate are the correct blue finish. The trigger guard, and floor plate have a more recent parkerized finish. The stock is a "C" grip style stock that has a "RA FJA" proof on the left side with a crossed cannons Ordnance Dept. insignia in the middle and a single "P" proof in the pistol grip area. The stock has several smaller marks in just forward of the floor plate. Includes a tan leather claw sling marked "CC/1942"

Excellent with 95% plus of the original green parkerized finish with only small handling marks. The original blue finish on bolt shows some cycling marks and has a replacement parkerized extractor. Stock is very fine, with attractive grain, minimal handling marks and very clear inspection marks. The trigger guard is a parkerized replacement. Optics are clear, and the blue scope body has minimal handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
