This example was manufactured in 1875. Equipped with a combination front sight and an elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. The barrel has the two-line, two-patent date marking. Manufactured with a full length tube magazine. There is no visible caliber markings on the barrel or cartridge elevator. The dust cover is the first style with oval checkered "thumb print" that slides into two grooves integral on the receiver. The model is stamped on the top tang and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. Mounted on a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with curved steel buttplate with compartment that houses a four-piece cleaning rod. With a factory letter that confirms rifle configuration, octagon barrel and plain trigger, it was received in the warehouse on November 12, 1875 and was shipped out on October 11, 1876, order number 7346.

Rating Definition:

Fair. The rifle is a brown patina with extensive minor dings and pitting. The casehardened hammer and lever are mottled to a smooth brown patina. The brass elevator has a smooth dark patina and some dings. The markings are legible. The wood is fair with scattered scratches and bruises overall. Mechanically functions, but action is out of time and sticks intermittently.
