Made in 1911. Fixed sights, with the two-line/two-block patent dates and address on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt and the caliber markings on the right beneath the ejector port. Trigger guard is marked "VP" and "R" on the left side, with a niter blue trigger, magazine latch and safety, "E H" Non-Factory stamped on the left side. With a Colt black box hand numbered to another gun, stamped "MAR 29 1923" on the underside, with the blue and white label on the end, instruction sheet and an extra magazine.

Extremely fine, with 95% plus of the bright original high polish blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and scattered spotting and handling marks. Vivid niter blue color is present on the trigger, magazine latch and safety with 90% plus remaining. Grips are very fine with minor hairline cracks present around the screw and a fine aged color and grain pattern. The box is fair, with the hinge and some edges coming apart, traces of an insurance company label on the lid and mild scuffing. Mechanically excellent.
